Prof. Dr. Erol R. SAYIN
(Dean of the Faculty of Architecture)
He graduated from Istanbul Erkek Lisesi (IEL) im 1972 and METU in the Department of Industrial Engineering in 1979. After his graduation, he received his master’s and doctoral degrees from Ankara University in the Faculty of Political Sciences. Between 1979-1980, he worked in the Municipality of Ankara in the Department of Planning, and between 1980-1988, he worked in Secretariat for Research and Evaluation in Kent-Koop. At the same time, he was a part-time lecturer in the METU Department of Architecture. He joined to METU Department of Industrial Engineering in 1988 as a full-time lecturer. Until 1994, except for his academic work, he was assigned to the Department for Administrative and Financial Affairs as well. After 1994, he worked as a coordinator, participant, and advisor in the projects of The European Union and The World Bank. Between 2008-2010, he prepared feasibility reports for Alanya HEP University along with an academic group. In 2011, he worked at Karabük University in the Department of Industrial Engineering as Head of Department. Also, he was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Alanya HEP University. Between 2011-2017, he worked as the Dean of Alanya University. Since 2017, he has been working as a professor in the Department of Architecture at Alanya University. The lectures that he gave are Introduction to Architecture, New Towns, Architecture and Cinema, Architecture and Literature, City Culture, University Culture, City and Aesthetic, Management of Design, Management of Technology, Administration for Engineers, Local Government, Organisation Design, Method for Qualitative Research, Management Information System, Management of University, Organisation Culture, Entrepreneurship.

After successfully completing her undergraduate studies at the Architecture Department of Bahçeşehir University, she received her master's degree in Environmental Control and Construction Technologies Program at Istanbul Technical University. She worked in the design unit of Turkey's leading construction companies. She received her Ph.D. Selçuk University / Konya Technical University, in the field of Architecture. Her research interests include drawing techniques in architecture, building physics, building technologies, and sustainable architecture. She worked as a full-time lecturer at Alanya University since 2014. She has been working as Asst. Prof. Dr. at Alanya University since 2022.

Prof. Dr. Sülün Evinç TORLAK
Prof. Dr. Sülün Evinç TORLAK received her bachelor degree from METU Faculty of Architecture at the Department of Architecture in 1980, her master's degree also from METU at the Department of Architecture in 1983, her second master's degree from TODAİE in 1999, and her Ph.D. from Ankara University at Faculty of Political Sciences in 2001. During her doctorate, she conducted research for a year (1997) at the University of Birmingham, England. In 1992, she made research on environmental auditing in Japan Environment Agency for 4 months. She had been at Holland Erasmus University for 3 months as a short-term researcher. In 2012, she was a guest lecturer at the Bishop University of Canada for a term. Between 2003 and 2009 she worked at Pamukkale University in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences as an assistant professor. She also worked as an associate professor at Pamukkale University in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Architecture and Design between 2014 and 2017. She worked as a professor in the same faculties in 2018. She served as the Head of the Department of Urban and Environmental Issues between 2003-2018, as the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration between 2014-17, as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design between 2014-16, and retired in 2018. Before her academic career, she worked as a project architect and executive in PTT between 1983-1984; in Kent-Koop Kentkur between 1984-1988; in İzmir Mehmet Beset Architecture Office between 1988-1989; in Atabaş Architecture Office between 1989-1990; in OYAK Construction between 1990-1991 and in Ankara Municipality Directorate of Construction Affairs between 1991-2003.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Muzaffer ÖZGÜLEŞ
He received his BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2003. He also received his MSc from METU, in Science and Technology Policy Studies program, with his project “Fundamental Developments of the Sixteenth Century Ottoman Architecture: Innovations in the Art of Architect Sinan”. He wrote popular science articles in Bilim ve Teknik Magazine between 2008 and 2009. He received his Ph.D. in History of Architecture from Istanbul Technical University in 2013 with his dissertation entitled “The Building Activities of Gülnuş Emetullah Sultan”. He taught architectural history at Plato Higher Education College in Istanbul between 2010 and 2014. He received the Barakat Trust Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and spent the 2014-2015 academic year at the Khalili Research Centre at the University of Oxford. The outcome of this postdoctoral research was the monograph entitled “The Women Who Built the Ottoman World: Female Patronage and the Architectural Legacy of Gülnuş Sultan”, which was published by I.B. Tauris in 2017, with the publication grant of Barakat Trust. As another output of this research, his article entitled “A Missing Royal Mosque in Istanbul that Islamized a Catholic Space: The Galata New Mosque” was published in Muqarnas in 2017. He worked at Gaziantep University’s Faculty of Architecture as an assistant professor between 2016 and 2021. He was the coordinator of the Erasmus+ project entitled “Timeline Travel: An Alternative Tool for Architectural History Learning and Teaching”, which was chosen as Good Practice Example. He transformed the outputs of this project into a free mobile application in 2020. He is also writing, translating, editing, and proofreading architectural history and children’s books; and writing for Kumbara and Mini Kumbara children’s magazines since 2009. He has authored three children’s books: Mimar Sinan Macerası (YKY, 2016), Bizans Kaçkınları (YKY, 2021), and Acaba Ne Olurdu? (İş Kültür Yayınları, 2021). He has been working at Alanya University as an assistant professor since September 2021.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hourakhsh A. NİA
(Vice Head of the Department of Architecture)
He is a full-time academic staff in the Department of Architecture at Alanya University. He was the former Head of the Department of Architecture and Interior Architecture at Girne American University where he established the International Journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs (IJCUA) in 2016. Since then, he is the Editor-In-Chief of IJCUA. Dr. Hourakhsh A. Nia is the chairman of the international conference series with the name of Contemporary Architecture and Urban Affairs – ICCAUA2018 and ICCAUA2019. He has over 8 years of research experience in interdisciplinary studies of architectural humanities and social sciences, particularly the interrelations of Aesthetics in Architecture and urban design, housing, and Sustainable Urban Conservation. He is an editorial board member of the International Journal of Art and Architecture Studies and the International Advisory Board of Space Independent Academic Platform.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rokhsaneh RAHBARİANYAZD
She is an Associate Professor and full-time lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Alanya University. She obtained her Ph.D. within three academic years from Eastern Mediterranean University. She is an architect and full-time instructor with research interests that span the cultural strategies for generating urban quarters, the history of architecture and urban development as well as typo-morphological analysis into the evolution of the cities and architectural forms. These studies have been approached in several publications in academic journals (SCI, SSCI, SCI-Expanded, Arts and Humanities & Scopus).

Having graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2011, she worked as an architect and project coordinator in various national and international projects for five years as part of several architectural offices in Ankara. During this period, she pursued her master's degree in Architectural History at the Middle East Technical University. Following her graduation in 2019, she started her doctoral studies in the same department. She had been working as a research assistant since 2018 and is currently a full-time lecturer at Alanya University.

She graduated from the Izmir Institute of Technology, Department of Architecture in 2018 with a high honor degree. She completed her master’s degree in the Architectural Design program at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She is currently doing her Ph.D. at ITU. She worked at Işık University Faculty of Architecture as a part-time lecturer for a period of her academic life. She has been working as a research assistant at Alanya University since 2020.

Instr. Dr. Meral SAYIN
Meral Sayin holds a bachelor's degree in City and Regional Planning and a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU). Her Ph.D. degree in the field of "Local Competitiveness and Clustering in the Tourism Sector" is from the Department of Economics of Suleyman Demirel University. After graduation, she worked for the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and Ankara offices of the Ministry of Urbanization and Environment and KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization). Afterward, she worked for the GAP (South-eastern Anatolia Project) Development Administration and Ministry of Trade in the European Union (EU) funded projects as a high-level manager and hence completed in total about 30 years in public institutions. Meral Sayin started to work for Cankaya University in 2010 as the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation operating under the university rectorate and at the same time lectured on various interdisciplinary areas in the university during the same period. During her work life, she has specialized in entrepreneurship and innovation, local economic development, regional competitiveness, clustering, and development of urban and regional areas by undertaking high-level managerial positions in projects financed by national institutions and/or mostly the EU. Meral Sayin has been sharing her 40-year experiences and knowledge accumulation with her students through an interdisciplinary approach as a part-time lecturer at Alanya University since 2015.

Instr. Duygu YILDIZ
She graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Interior Architecture. Between 2015 – 2016, She worked as an interior architect at a company that also serves as an interior designer at Kütahya Seramik. She designed and controlled large-scale public projects including housing and hotel, building design. From 2016 to 2017, She worked in NURUS Antalya as a member of the interior space design practice. Since 2018, She has been continuing her academic career as a lecturer at the Department of Architecture, at Alanya University.

Graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2014. He received his M.Arch degree from the University of Michigan - Taubman College, in the field of architecture in 2017. He won the Burton L. Kampner Memorial Award with his master’s thesis project, “Elemental Procedures”. He has been working as a full-time instructor at Alanya University, Faculty of Architecture since 2019. His research interests focus on digital design, digital representation techniques, BIM, structural design, and 3D modeling.

Instr. İlker Ümit KARADUMAN
He graduated from Eşkişehir Osmangazi University, Department of Architecture in 2001. In 2003 he established his own architectural office under the name of PROMİM MİMARLIK. He completed a lot of projects in the categories of residential, office, accommodation, healthcare, and education. Also, he continues to work in the construction sector with the construction firm he established in 2012. Since 2016 he has been working as an Instructor at Alanya University. Instr. Ece Alara ALANKAYA
In 2016, she graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Department of Architecture. During this period, she did her office internship at Tabanlıoğlu Architects and she worked in London for 3 months with the Erasmus + Traineeship Program. After her internship in London, she continued to work as a part-time architect for about 2 years in the same architectural office. In 2017, she started her master's degree in the Department of Architecture at the Middle East Technical University, in addition to the many experiences she gained during her education, she also participated in Mevlana Exchange Program and took courses related to her thesis at Konkuk University, and had the opportunity to experience the information age and culture in Seoul, in-situ for 4 months. While continuing her thesis studies, she is working as a part-time lecturer at Alanya University as of 2020.

Instr. A. Kadir TURHAN
A. Kadir Turhan is working at his own Appraisal Consultancy Company as General Manager. He graduated from Kabataş (Erkek) Lisesi in 1982. He holds undergraduate degrees in the Department of Civil Engineering, at Middle East Technical University and the Department of Economics, at Anadolu University. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in architecture at Alanya HEP University. He has a total professional experience of 28 years in the fields of Civil Engineering and 15 years in the fields of real estate/project appraisal and consulting. Turhan holds an appraisal license granted by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB). He is a member of the Association of Turkish Real Estate Appraisers (TDUB).

For over 10 years, she teaches Basic Design Studio courses. She was the Head of the Department of Architecture in Alanya HEP University between 2018-2022. Since March 1st,2022 she is continuing her academic career in Akdeniz Üniversitesi, Faculty of Architecture.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Milorad PAVLOVIC
He received his Ph.D. from Università Iuav di Venezia, School of Doctorate Studies, in the field of Strength of Materials in 2017. His research interests focus on the conservation of the architectural heritage and structural analyses of masonry buildings. His articles were published in journals such as Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, International Journal of Architectural Heritage, Key Engineering Materials and Civil-Comp Press. He teaches Building Physics, Structural Analysis, and Architectural Design Studio courses. He worked in Alanya HEP University - Department of Architecture between 2018-2022.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Nihan KOCAMAN PAVLOVIC
After graduating from Faculty of Architecture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, she received her Master and PhD degree in Restoration Program at Istanbul Technical University. She worked in Alanya HEP University - Department of Architecture between 2019-2021. Her research field is subtitled as conservation techniques and methods in archaeological sites, architectural conservation in archaeological sites, preventive conservation in archaeological sites, drawing techniques in archaeological sites, presentation of archaeological sites, archaeological sites, rural settlements, archaeological site management, local people-oriented conservation plans, the role of workshops in the management plans of archaeological sites, children and archeology, the interaction of children with archaeological sites, theory of restoration, history of restoration.
